Where to sell silver
Go to the Silver Trader inside a house in southwestern Svartrau, in the Neustadt district. Enter from the street and look for the white goblet merchant icon when nearby. Ordinary merchants refuse silver contraband.
PC Gamer identifies silver inventory items by a white chalice symbol. Check the item before switching to the selling side of the trader's interface.
Unlock trading with the letter route
PC Gamer documents an early route through Into the Den:
- Defeat the Ravenous Bear near Laslea and inspect the corpse at the back of its cave.
- Read the Tattered Letter, then follow its clue to the ruined hut in the peat bog.
- Find the marked X inside and loot the hidden cache.
- Take the Letter With a Tip from the cache to the Silver Trader.
- Choose the conversation about knowing that he trades in silver.
The two letters serve different purposes: the first points to the treasure; the second gives Coen the lead for confronting the merchant. Finding the shop alone does not complete that sequence.
The Infamy alternative
PowerPyx documents trading at Notorious Infamy, level 4 or higher, with the level shown in the Court menu. KeenGamer explicitly lists the letter and Infamy routes as alternatives. You do not need to grind Infamy solely to reproduce the documented letter route.
If the merchant refuses, check that you actually collected the cache's final letter, then revisit the silver dialogue. Otherwise, check your Court-menu Infamy. This is a progression check, not a guaranteed fix for a missing or hostile NPC.
Selling safely and Smuggler
The Smuggler trophy requires earning 1,000 denarii from selling silver. Check the shop's current quote; this guide does not promise fixed prices or profit for individual pieces.
Keep a save and inspect any item tied to an unfinished quest before selling it. Community reports mention other buyers, but this guide verifies the documented Svartrau route rather than promising a replacement if that trader disappears.
