Quick answer
Lacra is a vrakhir whose route begins with a yellow Focus Mode clue below Svartrau’s northeast wall. Her five companion quests are A Friend Like This → A Song of the Mountain → Hive and Seek → Our Rotten Roots → The Night of Horrors; Midnight Reckoning is the later ending route.
Published walkthroughs agree that the romance scene requires eating the Mandrake, following Lacra, drinking when prompted, and choosing the kiss. They do not expose a numeric affinity threshold for earlier dialogue.
Evidence checked September 9, 2026. Quest order and rewards were rechecked against launch walkthroughs; hidden relationship weights remain unpublished.
Compare Lacra’s route with the broader Romance Guide, Anca Quest & Romance and 30-Day Time Limit.
Who Lacra is
Lacra is a vrakhir who tracks other vrakhir arriving in Vale Sangora and says she was sent to kill Brencis. Her route mixes investigation, companion quests, combat rewards, and a relationship branch. PowerPyx, PC Gamer, and a detailed dialogue walkthrough agree on the main sequence; none exposes every hidden affinity weight.
How to start Lacra’s route
Use Focus Mode in the alley below the northeast wall of Svartrau and follow the yellow clue. Follow the broken roof tiles after dark, using Coen's vrakhiri traversal to reach the building where Lacra is questioning Nish.
Other reported leads include the note carried by Ambrus and the Vicho quest line. Those entry points may surface the same investigation, but the alley clue is the clearest start documented step by step.
Complete quest order
- A Friend Like This — three documented segments; 150 XP.
- A Song of the Mountain — four segments; 300 XP. Includes the Uriash decision.
- Hive and Seek — four segments; 1,000 XP, 1 Skill Point, and Isbrand Plate.
- Our Rotten Roots — wait one full in-game day, then commit four segments at Westridge Outpost Tower. Rewards 1,000 XP, 1 Skill Point, and Piercing Shriek.
- The Night of Horrors — wait one day. The route takes six to seven segments and awards 1,000 XP, 2 Skill Points, Misery Loves Company, and conditional Mandrake Ward or Mesmerize rewards.
Midnight Reckoning is the later ending route, not a sixth ordinary companion quest. Finish The Night of Horrors and make a save before committing to Midnight Reckoning if you want to preserve other endgame options.
The one-day waits before Our Rotten Roots and The Night of Horrors are separate from each quest's active segment cost. Always use the in-game clock icon rather than treating a written total as guaranteed after patches.
Quest-by-quest route notes
A Friend Like This
Inspect the yellow Focus Mode clues in northeast Svartrau, wait for night, then follow the damaged roof tiles. The encounter with Lacra becomes a scripted fight before the Nish interrogation. For the nonviolent route, take over the questioning, promise Nish's safety, and stop Lacra from killing him. PowerPyx lists the quest at three time segments with 150 XP.
A Song of the Mountain
Meet Lacra near Crown Rock at night and follow the wind chimes uphill. Some walls require Planeshift. The encounter with the Uriash can become a fight, which removes access to village vendors and A Mother's Plea; the peaceful route is therefore the safer choice if your goal is to preserve content. De-escalate Lacra, say nobody needs to die, and allow the Matriarch's test to play out rather than attacking.
Hive and Seek
This is the required bridge into Isbrand's story and contains no romance dialogue according to the detailed romance walkthrough. Complete it before expecting Our Rotten Roots to appear. Check the loot near Isbrand before leaving, but verify equipment values against your current patch rather than an older guide screenshot.
Our Rotten Roots
Give Lacra one full day after Hive and Seek, then meet her at Westridge Outpost Tower at night. Confirming the route commits four segments. Inside Anachora, use Phaseshift and Shadowstep through the memory sequence. The right-hand route follows Lacra's request; the optional left path reveals more of her history and PowerPyx reports no negative consequence for exploring it.
The Night of Horrors
Wait another full day and speak to Lacra at the tower. This long nighttime route follows wisps through the swamp and into the sunken crypt. Conversation is part of the progression: answer honestly and keep asking about her past. The romance resolution happens near the end, after the Mandrake decision, so save before interacting with it.
Romance choices
The romance walkthroughs agree on this final sequence:
- Eat the Mandrake when the route presents the choice.
- Follow Lacra.
- Let her drink Coen’s blood.
- Choose the kiss.
Earlier compassionate choices—especially sparing Nish and resolving the Uriash standoff peacefully—are the safest route, but public guides do not expose a numeric affinity threshold. Eating the Mandrake is the branch that opens the documented romance scene; letting Lacra take it or refusing it ends the night without that scene. Save before the Mandrake choice and before starting The Night of Horrors.
Major route warnings
The Uriash decision affects access to village content. Our Rotten Roots and The Night of Horrors include explicit waits, so plan them around the 30-day clock. The conditional rewards from The Night of Horrors depend on the route result; do not assume every save receives every power.
Some community reports describe trigger problems, but the official 1.0.2 notes do not identify a universal Lacra-route fix. If a trigger fails, first confirm night-time access, journal state, the required one-day wait, prerequisite completion, and current game version.
